Paul Bruce has offered to organise a meeting with the head of Tranzrail and NZ Bus and has asked if I'd like to go along to represent CAW. The aim of the meeting is to open channels of communication for issues that may arise in the future. Any thoughts?

letter from NZTA on the implications for cyclists of the closure of the right turn from SH2 into Horokiwi Rd. There'll be some disruption, and cyclists coming from Petone won't be able to turn into Horokiwi Rd. However it will give them space to extend the green surfacing for cyclists passing the Horokiwi intersection.

GWRC would like a CAW rep or two at a climate change workshop probably 19 May (clashing with Active Transport Forum?) - any volunteers?

WCC has announced meetings to discuss the draft LTCCP. CAW should be represented - particularly at :

Urban Development / Transport Tuesday 28 April 12.30pm - 1.30pm Committee Room One

NZTA have written to CAW about options to upgrade SH1 around Waikanae. If someone would like to put a cycling point of view, the person to contact is Eric Whitfield, eric.whitfield@nzta.govt.nz 04 894 5200. Details in the attached letter.
